After slicing a cuticle one too many times on a letter I've decided it's best I invest in a beautiful letter opener.  It's one of those essential things you need for your desk anyway if you open a lot of mail.  I've decided that I don't want to spend more than $20.00 but I also want it to be unique enough to leave sitting out.
